Sopris Intermediate Pannier sets do not have compression straps, accessory straps, or rain cover attachments. However, like our larger panniers, they are versatile and tough, and will handle heavy loads such as small coolers with perishable food or iced drinks. Use these panniers with our black vinyl-covered nylon Top Net to quickly tie down top load items in the performance ring (bags of trash, etc.) or on the trail. The top net snaps into the side release buckles provided on the panniers.
These Amish-sewn panniers are made of heavy-duty 1680 denier nylon, which is extremely resistant to abrasion. A durable nylon draw string top keeps items securely inside these single-compartment panniers while the pannier lid iteslf can be used to secure top loads such as jackets and blankets; the 1" Quick-Release buckles make lid closure a snap.
The pannier stabilizing bar distributes the weight along the length of the saddle, while also acting as a carrying handle and providing a weighing point. It can also be removed when the panniers are used with a frame-type pack saddle (strong metal thumb-press cam buckles easily adjust the horn straps).
Two detachable stabilizing straps near the bottom of each pannier connect to the front and rear cinches to keep the pannier stable when the llama jumps, and two 1" webbing straps are sewn around each pannier to provide additional support and durability.
The Intermediate Panniers are compatible with all Sopris saddles, including the Rookie.
